The Ground Beneath Her Feet

U2 are one of the most popular bands in the world. As musicans, their work is diverse, distinct, and overall incredible. Yet, the thought of their greatest work has been quite challenging. Here's my two cents: The Ground Beneath Her Feet is their best song. Never heard of it? It's not exactly popular as Vertigo, Beautiful Day, or With Or Without You, but you can find it in two formats: The first in the U2 - Best of 1990-2000 DVD, as it's a featured music video. The second, and just as common (at like Tower and the Warehouse) is the soundtrack to the 2000 film The Million Dollar Hotel. The film, co-written by Bono and directed by veteran filmmaker Wim Wenders, was not a box office hit, or even remotely successful whatsoever (I blame Mel Gibson). Be your own judge and make it a rental next time your out. The Ground Beneath Her Feet, written by Salman Rushdie, and performed by U2.

hehe... i happen to love u2. actually, i am a singer and guitarist and i am learning and have learned many of u2 songs... i find them inspiring. recently, i started playing/singing "The Ground Beneath Her Feet" and it has grown on me tremendously. i would have a hard time not considering it among my very favorite u2 songs... i haven't read salman rushdie's book, so i don't understand fully the context of the song, but there seems to be a lot to the song to unpack... welp... my 2 cents
