KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas 1998
The year is finally over, nothing much left but for me to post a new post. Best of all, its a radio rant: I haven't listened to KROQ for many, many years now, since all their music sounds too similar and boring. Even the legendary Rodney on the Roq has lost his ways. I did go to an KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show, the first night, back in 1998. Bands that night of that year included Barenaked Ladies, The Cardigans, Reel Big Fish, Sugar Ray, blink-182, Hole, The Offspring, and closing the show, KoRn. The concert was held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, right next to USC.
As a final treat for everyone this year, I have for you the entire 24-minute set by blink-182, from that 1998 KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show I attended. That was my first ever concert at age 13, and I still think it was a pretty damn good show. I will probably change that thought within the new year...

this was my first concert too! I was 12 at the time. I think I regret not going to the 2nd night with Billy Corgan and Depeche Mode. But seeing a obviously drunk Courtney Love front Hole at the end of their run was kind of fun.
yeah, I would rather have gone to night two instead. I actually won my tickets from KROQ, on Thanksgiving night of that year. I was caller 20 and Sluggo even put me on the air.
Night one was memorable. Hole sure was something alright, and Courtney riding Ed Norton was classic.
I HAVE BEEN CALLING FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS AND MADE IT TO BE CALLER NUMBER 18..I WANT TO BE CALLER 20...WHAT AM I DOING WRONG...???? HELP...
