Crappy movie with Keen Music

I hated Empire Records.

Such a bad film, horrible characters, horrible acting, and under the direction of a horse's ass*

I hated the film, but I sure love the soundtrack**.

As a music blogger, I am in a position to post one song from an album (soundtrack), explain why it's so neat, then to tell you to buy the album. I will only do one tonite (I wanna goto bed!!) and tell your ass to buy the Empire Records soundtrack for not only sampling such forgotten-but-good tunes, but for also owning a piece of 90's musical nirvava.

Empire Records:
The shitty feature film
The awesome soundtrack

Edwyn Collins - A Girl Like You

Tonite's (wrestling jargon) word of the day: GIMMICK

*Director Allan Moyle was also helmed Pump Up The Volume in 1990 which, despite Christian Slater, I enjoyed.
**Was originally going to include 'Til I hear it From You' by Gin Blossoms, but decided to wait it out for my special Gin Blossoms post in the near future.
