The Gay Messiah Strikes Again

Rufus, you son of a bitch.

Why do you have to sound like an angel?
How can you make both the ladies and the fellas fall to their knees?

Two selections from Mr. Wainwright, tonite. The first is a cut from his 2004 masterpiece Want Two, called The One You Want. Yes, you can find the lyrics in the tagging of the WMA file. The second tune is from the soundtrack to the best film of 2004, The Aviator, directed by one of my top five favorite directors, Martin Scorsese, and staring Leonardo DiCaprio as billionare-loony, Howard Hughes. The tune is I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise, written by George Gershwin, and performed (covered) by Rufus for the film (he's in the feature as a singer at the Cocoanut Grove!).

Enjoy, and if you like what you hear, please support this sensational singer by buying his music & catching him on tour, currenty with Ben Folds and Ben Lee.

a sound of blunder

I could write about my return to college, or about current events, or I could even write about why Duran Duran are amazing both overrated and underrated all at the same time.

I've been listening to alot of synth pop/industrial lately. Yes Loren, I have you to thank (the boy, as well!). It's a great thing, since I've been a Depeche Mode fan for decades now (it's twue! I'm almost 20! I can say that now!). I've rediscovered New Order, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Boingo, Gary Numan, and discovered the amazing sounds of Skinny Puppy, Einsturzende Neubauten, Fad Gadget, and Cabaret Voltaire.

I have Photography class later this afternoon. I really dig, our instructor is great, and my classmates are nice people. Yes, I'm finally enjoying college. Finally.

I have six New Order songs in my mp3 player [out of 32 song files]. Below is one of my favorites.
